Day 3 of the 365 Days to Soar Challenge: Go through a pile of papers.
Easy enough, I assume every house with living occupants has some sort of paper flowing through it. School papers, junk mail, bills, receipts, you name it. Without being a bossy Betty, it's time to attack one of those piles. The pile of receipts in your purse/bill fold, or the bills on the desk, you're choice. For me it's a combination of family important documents mixed in with school papers, a bunch of trash, and some items just missing their homes. You decide what room/bag this pile is in.
After 25 minutes of work (I had dear hubby on the phone during the whole cleaning, so this was a SLOW one handed job) I have gone through the small pile of papers; putting the ones to keep into their rightful spot in the Home Management Binder, put the wicker sewing basket back in its spot under the table, then dealt with the little things like hair ties and rewards cards, basically everything that was once on my desk in the past week and a half that the kids have pushed over to the table so they could take my laptop hostage for Plants vs. Zombies.
Had I been able to hang up the phone I would had conquered this small stack in much less time but it's done, I'm satisfied, the clutter is gone... for now. Need proof? Don't worry, I have some here.
See, that's how it's supposed to be. Well, minus the dust! Hey, I was just going for the clutter. So shake off that profectionist feeling because it will just hold you back. How it looks now is plenty fine for me until Monday when dusting is done.
For tomorrow (day 4) the challenge is to pick one, 1 dresser drawer to sort through. We are looking for clothes that no longer fit, no longer represent who we are, or has been loved too much and is full of holes. We will get rid of those items to make room for the items we do love... without holes. Again, free reign on which drawer to chose, although I do suggest to start with the drawer that is hardest to close.
