In an effort to cut down on chemicals laying around and to cut down on some of our budget, I've become interested in making things more at home. One being cleaning products. So far this is the only one I've made but as time progresses, I'm certain I'll add more home made cleaners to my arsenal.
All you do is take baking soda and add liquid dish soap (I used Dawn) to it. Easy, right, oh yeah.
Ok, so I had some leftover from my last cleaning project and over the course of a few weeks it dried out a bit. No problem, it still worked with a wet rag or I could had added more baking soda and liquid dish soap to make it more liquid like.
Here's today's project. I've let the garbage can go a little longer than usual to see how much we could mess it up and to see if this stuff will cut through long standing yuck.
Now there is a permanent marker scribble and a stain at the top, I'm aware of these two blemishes and am not expecting those to come off but all the other goo, yeah, that's got to go.
So smearing on the paste with my wet rag and about 3m of scrubbing crevices and what not, I am proud to present...
Nothing too outstanding but I must say, this is a cheap alternative to Soft Scrub. The two ingredients are most definitely always on hand. In addition to that, with the surplus of young kids running in and out of my house, I feel better having less harmful chemicals to lock away from nosy fingers.
